What To Do When Ideas Strike You At Inopportune Times

Not to sound crass or to tarnish this blogs reputation (what reputation??) with toilet humour but my light bulb starting flashing on this topic while I attempted productive pooping and I got thinking about the best way to capture ideas at inopportune times. Ideas can strike at any time and quite often you won't be ready for them. I've lost count of the number of ideas that have been lost into the abyss that is my mind because it wasn't convenient for me to get them down. When I did remember then, it wasn't quite the same idea as it was when I first brainstormed it. If you've been caught out by inopportune light bulb moments, I have a few ideas that might help.

How to Make More Time For Achieving Your Goals

How many times have you heard people exclaim, "there is not enough time in the day!" or some other cop out for not having done what they were supposed to? I'm guessing it's plenty. What about in your own life? Are there things you should be doing that you just don't have the time to achieve? If you've never fallen victim to time then you're obviously some sort of productivity guru and should probably be teaching me a thing or two. For everyone else, we have to try and make time for the things we want to achieve. Now unless your name is Hiro Nakamura, then there's no possibility of bending the fabrics of time and space in order to get more done (but it would be really cool if we could!). For mere mortals, we just have to figure out a way to organise our day in a way that makes it more conducive towards achieving our goals.

How to Write a Blog Post in 5 Minutes or Less

Last week, Henri Junttila from Wake Up Cloud wrote The Homeless Blogger's Guide to Procrastination on the Not A Pro Blog. It was a funny and witty look at how we as bloggers waste so much time viewing stats, reading countless other blogs and petting animals instead of doing what we actually should do. One of the most interesting things to come out of this post for me was the fact that Henri claimed he wrote the post in just 5 minutes! Talk about the exact opposite of procrastination! The guy practically sets his keyboard alight when he types. With that in mind I decided to try and put Henri's theory to the test. So here I am, typing like a mad man, trying to get something that is borderline legible, informative and entertaining in around 5 minutes.
